Bugbrooke Village

Our Community

This is a new website for the Parish Council of Bugbrooke, South Northamptonshire

Parish Council Members and Contacts

Despite its proximity to Northampton, Daventry and Towcester and all the various transport links, Bugbrooke remains a village, despite developments in recent years – we are just a bit bigger than we use to be!   We are located in the centre of England, in the district of South Northamptonshire.  The Grand Union canal winds its way through the village, as does the West Coast main rail line, although Long Buckby is our nearest railways station.  The M1 is approximately 3 miles away but without a direct link

The countryside around the village is composed mainly of farm land, which together with the green spaces in the village, provides plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities.  There is a large community centre with over 25 acres of  playing fields for rugby, football, cricket and bowls.  In addition there is the Millennium Green, an area of approximately 2 acres right in the centre of the village.  This has a footpath taking visitors through areas planted with native species of trees, along the bank of the Hoarstone Brook and exiting close to the church.  There are seats along the way to allow time to rest and enjoy the peace and quiet.  The old part of the village has many lovely ironstone cottages, as well as the village primary school and the parish church of St Michael and All Angels.  There are three pubs – The Bakers Arms, The Five Bells and The Wharf and we also have a community café, open several mornings per week including Saturdays, and The Pantry Door.   We are  fortunate enough to have a doctor’s surgery, pharmacy, post office, village shop, pet shop and various hairdressers and beauty parlours

On this website you will find all the latest Parish Council information including meetings and minutes; information about what’s happening in the village, and events in the locality.  Also details of who to report problems to, and how.  Please explore the site to find out more about our village, its inhabitants, what’s going on in the village, and anything else you may wish to know.  Have a look at our "Resident's" Gallery - photos taken by people living in the village and includes some old photos of what we looked like 50 years ago

This website will be updated at least twice a month, so please visit regularly to see what is going on. We also hope to be able to inform you about the past and the future, so to help keep this site going, just email the webmaster with your news, events, or details or your organisation or business, and we can include you in our site

Whenever possible we try and deliver a paper copy of our Welcome Pack to all new residents in the village.  If you would like a copy, please let me have your name and address and I will deliver one, alternatively you can have a look at it online, by clicking on the link below

If you want to get in touch with us if you have any ideas to develop the site email The Parish Clerk - Bugbrookepc@btconnnect.com.   And don’t forget to check out our Facebook Page
